Police investigate Donvale non-fatal shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating after an incident in Donvale overnight where a man was shot.

Emergency services were called to Sturdee Road following reports a man had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body about 1.40am on Thursday, 22 June.

A 46-year-old Donvale man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other females inside the property at the time – a 44-year-old and a 16-year-old – were not physically harmed during the incident.

It is believed two armed men attempted to force entry to the property but were unsuccessful.

Both men then fled the area in their vehicle in an unknown direction.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage.

Detectives are also urging anyone who may have any other information about the shooting and those involved to come forward.
