Police investigate East Melbourne mail theft

Police are appealing for public assistance following a theft of mail in East Melbourne last month.

Investigators have been told two men entered an apartment complex on Albert Street about 2.20am on 18 February.

The men attended a communal mail room and managed to open the mailboxes before stealing the contents and fleeing the scene.

The first man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 30s to early 40s with a dark tattoo above his right elbow

He was wearing a black t shirt, dark grey pants, black cap and carrying a black bag.

The second man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 30s and unshaven.

He was wearing a white/grey jumper, blue Adidas striped pants, white Adidas sneakers and a black cap.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of two men who they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.
