Police investigate fatal collision at Laverton

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a multi-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a man in Laverton this morning.

It is believed a Ford Ranger utility towing a trailer was travelling outbound in the far-left lane on the Princes Freeway when it collided nose to tail with three other cars near Kororoit Creek Road about 5.50am.

The collision caused one of the vehicles, a white Kia sedan to veer across the freeway when two trucks collided with the vehicle.

The male driver of the Kia who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

No one else was injured and the drivers are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage in the area prior to the collision.
