Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Yea this afternoon.
It is believed two cars collided on Melba Highway around 5pm.
Sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The female driver of the other vehicle was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and investigations continue.
