Student Excellence Awards 2026: Bayside

The Mayoral Student Excellence Awards celebrate students who have demonstrated kindness, respect and meaningful contributions to both their school and the wider community.

Students may also be recognised for outstanding achievement in areas such as academic excellence, leadership and personal growth.

Each year, Bayside Council invites principals from local primary and secondary schools to nominate students for these prestigious awards. Nominations for the 2026 awards program close on Friday 6 November.

Schools may nominate up to two students who have displayed exceptional character, shown respect for others and gone above and beyond to make a positive contribution to their school community.

The awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate young people whose actions, achievements and commitment to others have made a lasting impact on those around them.

This year, award recipients and their parents or guardians will be invited to attend the Mayoral Student Excellence Awards Ceremony at Botany Town Hall on Thursday 26 November, where students will be formally recognised for their achievements.

Bayside Council encourages all schools to acknowledge and celebrate students who embody the values of kindness, respect, leadership and community spirit through a nomination for the Mayoral Student Excellence Awards.

Mayor Dr Christina Curry said

“The ongoing success of these awards reflects the dedication of our schools, teachers and families in supporting young people to achieve their full potential. Council is proud to continue this tradition of recognising student excellence across our community.”
