Police investigate serious assault at West End 3 November

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a vehicle believed to be linked to the random attack of a man in West End on October 30.

Preliminary information suggests a 65-year-old local man was walking home along Bank Street when he was approached by another man who exited a ute parked across the road around 8.30pm.

The man produced a knife and threatened the 65-year-old before attempting to stab him in the torso.

The victim raised his hands to protect himself and as a result sustained a number of lacerations.

The man then fled and left the scene in the white ute being driven by another man along Banks Street towards Jane Street.

Police believe a vehicle depicted in the below images and vision may be linked to the incident. It is described as similar to a white Nissan Navara with four doors and no registration plates.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged around 20-24-years-old and was wearing a white shirt and pants.

Anyone with further information regarding the incident or vehicle is urged to come forward.
