Police investigate serious assault at Yarrabilba

Police have charged a man with grievous bodily harm following an incident at a Yarrabilba restaurant last night.

At about 10pm a 23-year-old New South Wales man attended a restaurant on Yarrabilba Drive where a physical altercation with another man occurred.

During the altercation the 23-year-old man has allegedly punched a 29-year-old man from Daisy Hill in the face causing him to fall backwards.

Upon his fall the 29-year-old man has hit his head on a concrete pavement and has lost consciousness.

The 29-year-old man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have charged the 23-year-old man with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court later today.
