Police investigate serious assault atthe CBD overnight, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a serious assault in the city overnight.

Just before 3am on Monday 16 March, patrols were called to the Casino on North Terrace after a man allegedly stabbed a security guard in the upper back with an unknown weapon.

The suspect fled before police arrived however, he was located nearby on King William Street and arrested. Police also locating a pair of scissors in his possession.

The 40-year-old from Novar Gardens was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital to be medically assessed and is expected to be charged with aggravated assault cause harm later today.
