Police investigate theft of vehicles in Port Melbourne

Detectives from Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the theft of an excavator, transit van and jetskis valued at $180 000 from a construction storage facility in Port Melbourne in August.

It’s believed offenders arrived at the Thackray Street premises in an orange Holden VX sedan about 8.45am 2 August before cutting through the cyclone fence and gaining entry.

Once inside, they stole a 1998 Ford Transit van with a trailer attached carrying two Seadoo brand jetskis.

Later that day, investigators believe the same offenders re attended the premises about 12.40pm and stole a 2012 Hino 300 with attached trailer carrying a Tacuchi brand excavator.

The Ford van was recovered on 14 August parked on Campbell Street in Cambellfield.

The Hino van was located on 17 August Valencia Street in Glenroy.

Investigators have released images of the stolen vehicles and the Holden vehicle in the hope someone may recognise them and come forward.
