Police investigating after rider struck by car in Concord

Police are investigating after a motorbike rider was hit by a car in Sydney’s inner-west on Friday.

About 10.45pm (Friday 20 March 2020), a 23-year-old man was leaving a friend’s home on his motorcycle, on Ian Parade, Concord, when a man driving a car pulled up next to him and the pair began arguing.

Police have been told the driver allegedly got out of his vehicle and attempted to push the rider off his motorbike. The rider allegedly pushed the driver back before leaving on his motorbike.

The driver then allegedly followed the rider for about two kilometres before hitting him with his car and driving away.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The rider suffered cuts and a suspected spinal injury and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

About 8.25pm yesterday (Saturday 21 March 2020), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Northcote Street, Mortlake, and seized a number of items, including a car and clothing.

Investigations are continuing.
