Queensland Police have charged a 22-year-old man with several offences following investigations into two armed robberies in Kingaroy and Murgon over the past month.
It will be alleged that on the evening of February 12, the man attended a King Street, Kingaroy venue where they threatened staff with a machete before they were able to flee the scene with a quantity of cash.
It will be further alleged that on the morning of March 13, the man attended a McAllister Street, Murgon business where he threatened staff with a pole before he was able to escape and flee the scene with a set of keys.
Police will also allege the man is linked to several other property theft incidents around the Murgon and Kingaroy areas between January 13 and March 13.
Following investigations into these incidents, detectives and uniformed officers attended a Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg address on Wednesday afternoon, March 13. It’s alleged upon police attendance, the man attempted to run from police before being taken into custody a short time later.
He has since been charged with two counts each of armed robbery, wilful damage, possess dangerous drugs, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fail to take reasonable care of a syringe or needle, fail to properly dispose of needle or syringe, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, obstruct police, possess thing intended for use in connection with offence, trespassing and five counts each of enter premises and commit indictable offence.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on May 15.
