Police lay arson charges in Kallangur, QLD

A 32-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with arson offences following an investigation into a string of fires at a Kallangur caravan park on Saturday, November 4.

Police were called to a Goodfellows Road property around 12.30am on Saturday to reports of a caravan on fire, under a carport.

On police arrival, emergency services had extinguished the blaze and there was extensive damage to the vehicle and carport.

Detectives will allege a 32-year-old Kallangur man was responsible for lighting other fires in the region dating back to June.

The man was arrested a short distance away and was charged with one count each of arson of a motor vehicle and attempted arson, and two counts each of setting fire to vegetation and endangering particular property by fire.

He is scheduled to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today, November 6.
