Police lay assault charges at Redcliffe

Police have charged two people following an alleged assault in Redcliffe last night, August 4.

It will be alleged just before 8pm, the duo entered a Redcliffe Parade restaurant and damaged several items during an altercation with a number of diners.

A 40-year-old Bracken Ridge man sustained minor head injuries and was transported to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.

The pair left the scene on foot towards Anzac Avenue and were taken into police custody nearby a short time later.

A 25-year-old Newport man was charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and commit public nuisance.

A 24-year-old Burpengary man was charged with one count of commit public nuisance.

Both are due to appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court on August 21.

Detectives from Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing to witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
