Police Lay Charges After Point Cook Aggravated Burglary

Werribee police have arrested and charged a man following an alleged aggravated burglary in Point Cook on 7 December.

Police will allege the 29-year-old gained access to a residence on Dunnings Road about 6.30am.

It is believed the man confronted a woman inside the residence and stole her phone before fleeing the scene.

The woman’s partner chased the man on foot and managed to retrieve the phone.

Police swiftly arrived on scene and successfully arrested the man inside a nearby residence.

No one was physically injured.

He has since been charged with aggravated burglary, theft, and unlawful assault.

He was remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
