Police lay charges – Aggravated burglary – Bellamack

Northern Territory Police have charged two boys, aged 16 and 17, after a 16-year-old boy was assaulted at his residence in Bellamack yesterday.

At 1:00pm, police were called to the residence on Clarke Street after the victim reported he was assaulted by two male youths known to him.

The alleged offenders unlawfully entered the boy’s home, armed with a taser and baton, while they searched through the victims belongings. Shortly after, they were disturbed by a neighbour and fled the scene.

Serious Crime Squad and general duties members attended a unit nearby and arrested the pair. Both have since been charged with:

• Aggravated burglary

• Aggravated robbery

• Criminal damage

• Possess prohibited weapon

• Possess controlled weapon

• Possess less than traffickable quantity of schedule 2 dangerous drug

• Cultivate prohibited plant

They will appear in court today.
