Police lay charges – Cottesloe fatal crash

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged an 87-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred in Cottesloe on Tuesday, 9 March 2021.

It is alleged about 6.50pm, a blue Toyota Corolla vehicle was driven on the footpath adjacent to Marine Parade and was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The 77-year-old male pedestrian died in hospital as a result of injuries he received in the collision.

The 87-year-old man from Cottesloe is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 13 May 2021 charged with:-

• Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death; and

• Exceed 0.08% alcohol per 100ml of blood.
