Police Lay Charges – Domestic Violence In Darwin 16 April

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 52-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Darwin last week.

At around 10.30pm on Friday 12 April 2024, police responded to a report that a 29-year-old woman had been assaulted with an edged weapon at a residence in Wagaman by a man who is known to her.

General duties police and St John Ambulance personnel attended the scene and located the woman with a serious laceration to her chest. She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where she remains receiving treatment.

The alleged offender fled the scene before police arrived, however was arrested a short time later by attending members.

The man was charged with one count of Recklessly endangering life and one count of Unlawfully cause serious harm. He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
