Police Lay Charges Over Brawl In Sydney CBD

A man – wanted on an outstanding warrant – has been charged over his involvement in a brawl at a venue in Sydney’s CBD last month.

Just before 6pm on Sunday 25 February 2024, officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command responded to reports of a brawl at a licensed premises on George Street.

Police have been told a number of men were involved in the fight before security intervened.

A 23-year-old man suffered facial injuries after allegedly being assaulted. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment; however, has since been released.

Detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

As part of inquiries, investigators arrested a 26-year-old man at Sydney Airport about 10am today.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station where an arrest warrant for affray was executed.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 10 April 2024.
