Police lay charges over caf assault in Rosehill

A man has been charged after a café employee was allegedly assaulted in Sydney’s west this week.

Just after 11am on Thursday (9 June 2022), police were called to a café in the carpark of a supermarket on Oak Street, Rosehill, after reports of an assault.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and were told that a 27-year-old employee allegedly had coffee thrown at him by a customer.

The customer fled prior to police arrival. The incident was captured on CCTV which was posted on social media by the café staff.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, a 31-year-old man attended Granville Police Station about 6.30pm yesterday (Friday 10 June 2022) and spoke with investigators.

He has since been issued a court attendance notice for common assault and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 26 July 2022.
