Police lay charges over drug offences in Adelaide River 11 September

Northern Territory Police have charged a man with commercial drug offences in Adelaide River earlier this morning.

Adelaide River and Batchelor general duties police stopped the 36-year-old man at a random alcohol and drug testing station on the Stuart Highway at Adelaide River.

He tested positive for cannabis and amphetamine. During a search of his vehicle, 30.4 kilograms of cannabis was found inside.

The 36-year-old was arrested and charged with:

  • Drive with dangerous drug in blood
  • Possess schedule 2 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
  • Supply schedule 2 dangerous drug – commercial quantity

He was remanded to appear in the Darwin Local Court tomorrow.
