Police lay charges over drug offences in Katherine 2 November

Northern Territory Police have charged two men, aged 20 and 57, for drug related offences.

On Friday 30 October 2020, members executed a search warrant at a residence in Katherine. During the search, police located:

  • a sawn off 410 shotgun with serial numbers removed
  • a crocodile skull and skin
  • fireworks
  • 130 grams of cannabis
  • $9610 in cash

The 20-year-old man was charged with:

  • possession of schedule 2 dangerous drug traffickable quantity
  • supply a schedule 2 dangerous drug
  • possessing property from the Commission of an Offence
  • possess drug paraphernalia
  • possess protected animal

The 57-year-old man was charged with:

  • possession of a schedule 2 dangerous drug traffickable quantity
  • supply a schedule 2 dangerous drug
  • possessing property from the Commission of an Offence
  • possess drug paraphernalia
  • possess firearm while unlicensed
  • fail to meet storage requirements for a firearm
  • possess a prohibited firearm
  • possess firearm with altered ID marks
  • possess protected animal
  • possess fireworks

Both men will appear in Katherine Local Court today.
