Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old male for offences committed against a female youth in Alice Springs.
It is alleged that the male sexually assaulted the youth, who is aged over 12, on 9 March 2024. Investigators from the Southern Child Abuse Task Force investigated the matter and arrested the male yesterday morning.
He has been charged with Sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16 years and Expose child to indecent act.
The male is currently on a working visa in Australia. All appropriate authorities have been notified.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Court later today.
