Police lay robbery charges at Archerfield

Detectives have charged a 21-year-old man after two separate alleged robberies at Archerfield this month.

Just before 4pm on Tuesday, January 14, a 34-year-old man was using an ATM on Kerry Road when he was allegedly approached and assaulted by the 21-year-old man, who also stole the money the man had withdrawn.

The 34-year-old man was not physically injured.

Around 10:30am today, a 62-year-old woman withdrew a sum of money from the same ATM. The 21-year-old man allegedly approached her, assaulted her and stole the money she had withdrawn.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

A short time later police located the man travelling in a taxi along the Inner-City Bypass and arrested him.

The Acacia Ridge man is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court tomorrow after being charged with two counts of robbery.
