Police lay robbery charges at Silkstone

Police have arrested a 29-year-old man following investigations into a series of property offences in the Silkstone area ranging from September 9 to yesterday.

Police will allege the man was caught on camera stealing a quantity of cash from a Blackstone Road business, September 9.

Police further allege around 4pm, October 11, the same man entered a Blackstone Road service station, threatened the attendant with a knife whilst demanding money and fled with a quantity of cash and the attendant’s wallet.

Yesterday the man allegedly entered a Silkstone automotive business and stole a cash tin from the office area and fled on foot.

At around 6.30pm that day, the 29-year-old man allegedly entered the same Blackstone Road service station and robbed the attendant at knife point, kicking the attendant when he was unable to comply with demands, then escaping on foot with a further quantity of cash.

Police investigations led them to a licenced premises on Brisbane Road Booval where they arrested the 29-year-old man.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of enter premises with intent, stealing and common assault. He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
