Police looking for pair in Far North

Police are looking for a man and a woman who are travelling in a stolen car from Queensland.

The Queensland pair, who are believed to be in the possession of a firearm, crossed the South Australian border from Queensland yesterday afternoon (31 August) and evaded the checkpoint.

The stolen car is a white Toyota Hilux ute with a large black toolbox in the rear tray and is now bearing unassigned number plates and ‘S632BHY’ (SA). It was stolen from a Queensland address on Sunday.

Police discovered that the Toyota was involved in a petrol drive off at Innamincka about 3.15pm on Monday and also allegedly drove at speed towards a man in the township.

The man and woman were spotted in the vehicle at Hawker this morning where they allegedly failed to pay for fuel at the local service station.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 30’s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing an orange and blue high-vis long sleeved top, long dark blue pants and a baseball cap.

The woman is described as having dark shoulder length hair and wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt.

Far North patrols are currently in the vicinity of the Horrocks Highway after the stolen car was spotted in Port Augusta a short time ago.

Anyone who sees the stolen utility (pictured) and occupants should not to approach them but to call police immediately on 131 444.
