Police make arrest after incident in Fremantle

Fremantle Detectives have charged two men as a result of their ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred in Fremantle on Saturday, 17 September 2022.

A hotel on Beach Street in Fremantle was hosting a buck’s party and a 21st birthday celebration, with over 100 attendees.

It will be alleged about 9.25pm, an altercation occurred between people from the two groups which resulted in a 30-year-old man being assaulted. The victim received a broken jaw in two places and required surgery to put plates on his jaw.

A 20-year-old man from Applecross and a 25-year-old man from Samson have each been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and are due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court in early December.

Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in attendance at either event who has mobile phone footage taken on the night, to come forward.
