Police make arrest over property offencesin Brisbane

Carseldine Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged two people with more than fifty offences following extensive investigations into a significant number of property offences across Brisbane.

It will be alleged that since mid-September this year, ten vehicles and a large amount of personal property was stolen from homes in numerous areas spanning Redcliffe to Acacia Ridge, including Taigum, Chermside, Wavell Heights, Fortitude Valley and West End.

The duo, a 30-year-old Banyo man and a 26-year-old Acacia Ridge woman are alleged to have burgled more than 30 properties stealing handbags, vehicles, medications, identification and credit cards, which were used fraudulently to purchase a range of goods.

They have been charged with burglary, unlawfully using motor vehicles and fraud offences.

The woman has been remanded into custody and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday October 27.

The man was also denied police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Monday October 11.

Investigators would like to thank the public for their assistance and issue a reminder to secure their homes and cars as most of these offences were opportunistic and committed due to homes being left unlocked and keys being left in vehicles.

Police are still in possession of a significant number of items as a result of the arrests. If you recognise any of the items below, please contact police.
