Police make arrest over shooting murder of Jason De Ieso, South Australia

Earlier today (Thursday 20 February) Major Crime detectives arrested a man at his home address in connection with the shooting murder of Jason De Ieso at his Pooraka workshop on 21 November, 2012.

A 33-year-old man from Walkley Heights is expected to be charged with murder and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

The arrest today is a pivotal moment in the investigation as it is the final arrest to be made by police of those directly involved in the murder. Eight men are now facing charges of murder, while a ninth is facing charges of assisting the offenders.

CCTV footage from the premises, previously released by investigators, shows nine men walking towards the front of the business, with at least six of those carrying firearms. The men opened fire, killing Mr De Ieso, before running from the scene. Police will allege eight of those men are now facing murder charges while the ninth man involved passed away in 2014.

Rewards of up to $500,000 will be paid by the Government of South Australia, at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, to anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for his murder.
