Police make arrest – Ram raid incident – Nightcliff

Northern Territory Police have arrested three people and continue their investigation of the ram-raid incident in Nightcliff on Saturday morning.

Just after 5:30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a ram-raid at a licensed premises along Casuarina Drive. The incident caused considerable damage to the entry point, and a substantial amount of alcohol was stolen.

Witnesses in the vicinity reported a group leaving the scene in a white Toyota Hilux. Surveillance footage from a neighbouring property captured the white Hilux being loaded with stolen alcohol.

In response to the incident, additional Strike Force Trident and Dog Operations Unit (DOU) members were recalled to duty. The stolen vehicle, a white Hilux, was located abandoned in Ludmilla behind Bagot Community by the DOU.

CCTV footage from the premises aided in identifying all five individuals involved. Two arrests were made immediately – two males, aged 16 and 17, were apprehended while walking down Fitzer Drive, Ludmilla, and a 23-year-old male was arrested in Minmarama Park, Ludmilla.

However, two male youths, believed to aged 15 and 16, outstanding. Strike Force Trident members are continuing to locate and apprehend these remaining offenders.
