Police make arrest – Stolen motor vehicle in Alice Springs 5 June

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a stolen motor vehicle in Alice Springs overnight.

Sometime overnight, a Toyota Hilux and Yaris were stolen from residences in East Side.

The Toyota Yaris was recovered dumped in Owen Springs earlier today.

At around 10:25am, police observed the Toyota Hilux attempt to overtake a campervan on Palm Circuit. The Hilux collided with the rear of the campervan and the three occupants of the stolen vehicle fled the scene.

The occupants of the campervan were uninjured and an 18-year-old male was arrested after a short pursuit.

Superintendent James Grey-Spence said, “The 18-year-old is currently in custody and is assisting police with enquiries. Strike Force Viper are continuing to investigate the incident and locate the remaining two offenders.

“Police are urging anyone who witnessed these incidents, or who has information, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10026085.”
