Northern Territory Police have arrested three youths in relation to two separate aggravated robberies on Monday.
Police allege a 13-year-old male broke into a locked taxi which was parked at the Casuarina Bus Exchange around 9:40pm on 1 July. When confronted by the taxi driver the male and a male co-offender pushed and punched the taxi driver before running off with his property.
The same two males and a further two co-offenders then gained entry into a Malak service station as it was closing around 11:45pm. The group took several food items and attempted to leave the store without paying. The shop attendant blocked the group from leaving which resulted in the group punching him multiple times to the head and throwing rocks at him.
The 13-year-old was located yesterday afternoon at Casuarina Bus Exchange and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear in court today for:
• Breach Of Bail
• Damage To Property
• Robbery – Aggravated X 2
A 16-year-old male was also charged for the two robberies and previous offences from April.
He will be remanded in custody tomorrow and has been charged with:
• Breach Of Bail/Mesne Warrant
• Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehicle
• Trespass
• Damage To Property
• Robbery – Aggravated X2
A 14-year-old male will appear in court this afternoon after being charged with one count of aggravated robbery for his involvement in the Malak service station incident.
Further arrests are expected to be made at a later date.
