Police make arrests – Aggravated robbery in Katherine

Northern Territory Police have arrested four people in relation to an alleged robbery in Katherine earlier this week.

At around 8:30pm on Tuesday, a 23-year-old man was leaving a licensed premises when he was approached by a man known to him.

The man engaged in a conversation before he was allegedly dragged into nearby bushland and assaulted.

During the alleged assault, three male youths approached and stole the man’s property before all alleged offenders fled the scene.

The victim suffered significant injuries to his face, and was taken to Katherine Hospital by members of the public.

Yesterday, police attended a nearby community and arrested a 20-year-old male and three youths, aged between 14 and 16. They have been charged with aggravated robbery.

The 20-year-old remains in custody and will appear before court today.

The three youths will face court early next year.
