Police make arrests – Burglary at Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 men after a burglary in Tennant Creek overnight.

Between 1am and 2am, unknown offenders have unlawfully entered a business on Schmidt Street, Tennant Creek, and stolen a quantity of alcohol.

Police and security attended the scene, however, the offenders had fled before their arrival.

NT Police secured the premises and began monitoring the area.

At 5:45am, police observed 3 men inside the same business and arrested one of the males at the scene while the other 2 males were arrested after a short foot chase.

All currently remain in custody and are expected to be charged with burglary later today.

Superintendent Mark Grieve said “This was fantastic proactive work by the officers involved, who successfully prevented the location from becoming repeatedly targeted overnight.”
