Police probe sudden death in Acacia Ridge

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man at Acacia Ridge this morning.

Shortly after 5am officers from Acacia Ridge and Centenary detectives responded to reports of an electrocution at an empty Peterkin Street industrial premises.

Upon arrival, a 54-year-old Calamvale man was found unresponsive near an electrical junction-box and pronounced deceased.

A 42-year-old Calamvale man also located at the property was spoken to and assisted police.

The man has been charged with one count of enter premise and commit, stealing, and one count of possessing implements of house breaking.

He has been bailed to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on July 24.

Centenary police would like to remind members of the community about the dangers in relation to unauthorised electrical work, and the theft of wire is an extremely dangerous activity.
