Police probe sudden deaths in Rockhampton

Police are investigating the deaths of two people who were located in a residence at Rockhampton.

Around 10.52am police were called to the Bean Street address at Park Avenue after a man allegedly attended a police station and reported that there were two dead people in the residence.

On arrival police located a 30-year-old woman and an 11-week-old baby girl deceased.

A crime scene was immediately declared and police investigations have begun into the deaths.

The investigation is in its early stages and police are beginning scientific examination of the scene while investigators work to piece together what has occurred.

A 31-year-old man is presently assisting police with their investigations in Brisbane.

This a very difficult and confronting scene for police and emergency services and we will be working hard to determine exactly what has occurred.
