Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Bowenville

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a woman died in a two-vehicle crash on the Warrego Highway this morning.

At 8.30am, police were called to the scene, about 15 kilometres east of Dalby, after reports of a collision between a semi-trailer and a maroon coloured Holden Commodore.

Early investigations indicate the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided head-on.

The highway was shut for several hours, while police and emergency services cared for the occupants of the vehicles involved, but has since reopened

A 29-year-old woman, a passenger in the sedan, was unable to be revived and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 35-year-old man, the driver of the sedan, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical condition for treatment of serious injuries to his arms and legs.

A 35-year-old man, the driver of the truck, was transported to Dalby Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with dashcam footage of either vehicle before the crash, to contact police.
