Police responding to fatal traffic crash at New Chum

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash at New Chum today, February 18.

Initial information indicates a Toyota Camry and a Husqvarna motorbike crashed on Redbank Plains Road in the vicinity of the Cunningham Highway around 10am.

The rider of the motorbike, a 32-year-old Leichhardt man, was initially transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries but has since passed away.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old Booval man, was not physically injured.

Anyone with information that could assist investigations, including dashcam or other CCTV vision, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
