Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Upper Freestone

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two-vehicle head on crash which claimed the life of a man at Upper Freestone this morning.

Preliminary information indicates the two vehicles collided on McMasters Road around 8:25am.

A 21-year-old Upper Freestone man, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, was declared deceased at the scene. A 19-year-old female passenger in the same vehicle suffered serious injuries and has been flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A 35-year-old male driver of the second vehicle, also from Upper Freestone, was taken to Warwick Hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken with police is asked to make contact.

Investigations are ongoing.
