Police are appealing for witnesses following a traffic crash in Cairns yesterday afternoon.
Around 6.10pm, a red Daihatsu Charade hatchback travelling inbound on Mulgrave Road, just past the intersection of Balaclava Road, collided with a female pedestrian.
The woman was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and three passengers in the car were not physically injured.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of Mulgrave and Balaclava Roads around 6.10pm yesterday, who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage, to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
