Police responding to traffic crash at South Brisbane 7 June

Police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic crash in Brisbane’s south early this morning.

Around 12.30am, preliminary investigations suggest a white Holden Commodore was travelling along Stapylton Road when it failed to negotiate a roundabout near the Logan Motorway at Heathwood.

The car left the road and crashed down an embankment.

The two occupants of the vehicle were uninjured in the crash.

The driver, a 32-year-old NSW woman, has since been charged with driving under the influence of liquor.

Her 37-year-old male passenger, also from NSW, has also been charged with assaulting police after allegedly pushing an officer while they attempted to conduct a breath test on the driver.

The pair are due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on August 25.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward as investigations continue.
