Police responding to traffic crash at Townsville

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a damaged silver Hyundai sedan travelling south on the Bruce Highway from Townsville to Cromarty this morning to make contact.

The sedan collided with a truck travelling in the opposite direction at MacKenzie Creek Bridge on the Bruce Highway around 10.45am.

The driver drove away from the crash however the Hyundai was located abandoned further south on the Highway. Police searched the nearby area and located a man in the bush.

The man has been transported to the Townsville University Hospital.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam vision or witnesses who may have seen the damaged silver Hyundai travelling on the Bruce Highway to contact police.
