Police search for man after Caulfield North armed robbery

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man and a car believed to be involved in an armed robbery in Caulfield North last month.

Investigators have been told a man was walking along Hawthorn Road when he was approached by an unknown car about 3.50pm on Wednesday 15 April.

The victim attempted to run away but was followed towards Northcote Avenue when the driver, an unknown man, got out of the car and approached the victim.

The man produced a knife and made demands for the victims belongings before taking off with a bag, mobile phone and portable speaker.

Investigators were told the unknown man got back inside the car, believed to be a white Holden Cruze Wagon, and drove south towards Hawthorn Road.

It is also believed a woman was sitting in the passenger side of the car at the time of the armed robbery.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to Caucasian in appearance, aged 18-22 years old, with a trimmed beard and moustache.

Police have also released images of the car in the hope someone may recognise the vehicle and provide information about its whereabouts.
