Police search for two thieves following burglary in Collingwood

Yarra Criminal Investigation Unit are searching for two people, following a burglary in Abbotsford on 11 May.

It is alleged two unknown offenders entered an inner-city working farm on St Heliers Street about 1.30am.

They forced open a side window, pulled out electrical wiring and stole a safe containing approximately $700 in cash and credit cards.

The pair then fled with their takings on a moped wearing high-visibility jackets.

It is believed a stolen credit card was used at a food restaurant on Bell Street in Heidelberg Heights, between the hours of 3am and 6am and again at a hotel on Albert Street in Preston to purchase cigarettes at about 3.40am.

Police have released CCTV of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, short brown hair, wearing a black and red hoodie with Tommy Hilfiger across the front of it.
