Detectives from Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit have today release images of a third man they wish to speak to in relation to an alleged serious assault in Shepparton late last year.
It’s understood the man was seen walking in the vicinity of Ashendon Street and Vaughan Street shortly after 9pm on 15 November 2019, the same time it is alleged two men forced entry into an Ashendon Street business armed with handguns.
Once inside, it’s alleged the pair made threats to kill the victim, a 50-year-old Shepparton man and made demands for a large sum of money.
They fled the scene empty handed and the victim was not physically injured during the incident.
Investigators are keen to identify the man as they believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is perceived to be Caucasian and described as having solid build with dark hair.
He was wearing black tracksuit pants, a black hoodie with a white logo across the chest, a dark coloured cross-body bag and dark shoes at the time.
Anyone who recognises the man or who may have seen him in the area at the time is urged to come forward and speak with police.
On 25 February, officers executed warrants in Richmond and Caroline Springs, arresting two men in relation to the alleged assault.
The 53-year-old man Richmond man and 34-year-old Caroline Springs man were charged with extortion, armed robbery, aggravated burglary and common law assault.
Both have been remanded and will appear before Melbourne Magistrate’s court on 6 June.
Officers also executed a search warrant at an OMCG clubhouse on Lipton Drive, Thomastown that same day, seizing ammunition and other items as part of the investigation.
