Police seek information after suspicious fire at Albury

Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire at Albury yesterday.

About 9:30pm (Saturday 17 February 2024), emergency services were called to Monument Hill off Memorial Drive, Albury, following reports of a vehicle fire.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and while no vehicle was found at the scene, nearby bushland was alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service attended and contained the fire. There was no evacuations or damage to nearby properties.

A crime scene was established and will be examined. While the cause of the fire is not yet known, it has been deemed suspicious.

Detectives have commenced an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident to contact Albury Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
