Police seek information on hit and run at Sumner, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance regarding an ongoing investigation into a hit and run at Sumner on Saturday night (October 16).

About 11.30pm, police were called to a large group of motorists involved in hooning-related activity on Spine Street.

Upon police arrival at the scene, the vehicles left the area and a utility vehicle stuck a bystander as they were crossing the road.

The pedestrian, a 17-year-old Warner girl, sustained serious injuries as a result.

Police will allege the driver and vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

The vehicle involved is described as a white Holden Commodore VE utility with no attached registration plates and pre-existing damage on its left-hand side panels.

The driver is described as male, Caucasian in appearance with a bald head and tattoos on the left side of his face. Police are urging anyone with dash cam vision or other information that may be able to assist with investigations to come forward.
