Police seek information over stabbing at Liverpool

Police are appealing for information following a stabbing in Sydney’s south-west last month.

About 8.30pm on Sunday 17 September 2023, emergency services responded to reports that a man working at a restaurant on Macquarie Street, Liverpool, was stabbed and assaulted by several male patrons during an argument.

The males left the scene prior to police arrival.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 20-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition, where he underwent surgery.

Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, investigators have released images of five men who maybe able to assist with their investigation.

All the men are described as being in their late 20s to early 30s, of African appearance and of medium build.

Two of the men are wearing a light-coloured Thobes and Kufi caps. One of the men was wearing dark-coloured shoes and the other dark-coloured slides.

The third man was wearing a light-coloured Kufi cap, dark-coloured jumper with white stripes on the upper arms and black sneakers.

A fourth man is described as having brown short hair and moustache and goatee-style beard. He was wearing a navy blue shirt, black jeans and grey shoes.

The last man is described as having brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt with green logo, blue jeans and white shoes.

Police are urging anyone who may have information or witnessed the incident to contact Liverpool Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
