Police seek witnesses: Assault in Springfield Central, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with investigations into an assault in Springfield Central on Saturday, April 1.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 7pm, a 20-year-old Springfield Lakes woman was walking towards a shopping centre on Main Street when she was approached by a male who was not known to her.

The man assaulted the woman and attempted to drag her into nearby bushes before members of the public responded and intervened, causing the man to flee the scene on foot.

The man is described as being aged in his late 20s with a medium build and short dark hair.

Police are appealing for the those members of the public who intervened in this matter and who assisted the victim at this time, or who witnessed the incident, to contact police.

Police are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV vision in the vicinity of Orion Shopping Centre between 6pm and 7pm to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
