Police seek witnesses to 94-year-old man assaulted in St Kilda

Police are appealing for public assistance after a 94-year-old man was assaulted during an unprovoked attack in St Kilda yesterday.

It is understood the man was walking out of an apartment complex on The Esplanade when he was assaulted by an unknown man about 12.10am on Monday, 7 February.

The victim fell to the ground and sustained injuries as a result.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition and has since been released.

St Kilda police are investigating the incident and urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with a solid build and was wearing light-coloured trousers.
