Police seek witnesses to Tarneit double stabbing

Werribee Wayward Taskforce detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue to investigate an alleged double stabbing in Tarneit last week.

Police and emergency services responded to reports two people had been stabbed following an altercation among a group of people at a property on Tatra Street about 4.30am on Sunday 24 October.

One of the victims, a 21-year-old Tarneit man, presented at a nearby hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

The second victim, also a 21-year-old Tarneit man, was treated at the scene before being flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Upon arrival police were confronted by several hostile and aggressive individuals, OC spray was deployed and one officer was assaulted by an unknown female.

Three men who attempted to run from the scene were arrested.

An 18-year-old Cobblebank man has been charged with affray, violent disorder, possess cannabis, possess controlled weapon, deal with proceeds of crime, contravene bail condition, commit indictable offence on bail and breaching Chief Health Officer directions.

He has been remanded to face Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 1 November.

An 18-year-old Manor Lakes man has been charged with affray, violent disorder, possess cannabis, and breaching Chief Health Officer directions.

He has been remanded to face Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.

A19-year-old Derrimut man has been charged with affray, violent disorder, possess cannabis, contravene bail condition, commit indictable offence on bail and breaching Chief Health Officer directions.

He has been remanded to face Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.

The investigation into the alleged stabbings and assault on police remain ongoing.
